Spikes and studs are a fierce fad, dominating fashion weeks across the globe this season. Runway favourites such as Burberry Prorsum and Marc Jacobs showcased collections, which included leather vests and tote bags adorned with spikes and studs.
One of the trend’s pioneers is Italian fashion frontrunner Valentino, whose rockstud pumps can make any look shine. You can maintain your femininity yet let your shoes do the talking by drawing inspiration from Olivia Munn and Vanessa Hudgens, who paired their Valentino rockstud pumps in nude and black, respectively, with low-hemline dresses. Following Jessica Alba’s footsteps, you can glitz up your look on a casual day out with a tan-coloured rockstud bag.
If you are bold enough to opt for a rocker-chic look, you can pair your leather jeans with rockstud pumps like Sofia Vergara or sport studded leggings like Beyoncé Knowles. Although some may snub the trend for being ‘too edgy’, wearing it right can make your style quotient spike.
